I knew different people throughout my life who have had issues with gambling. I know people that have lost their homes, businesses, their relationships even fell apart.
I know people who keep blowing money on lottery tickets (ONE OF THE BIGGEST SCAMS) and lose way more often than they win, and I think seeing that enough throughout my whole life made me stay away from gambling.
If people didn't just spend money on nothing, they could at least save it up. I'd rather buy something than gamble because at least I would physically gain something from doing that.
But while gambling has always been an issue, it's even worse than EVER before.
Whenever I think of Football or Basketball, I immediately think of betting. They have all became interconnected in my eyes. Ever since a few years back, you had all of the sports betting apps come out, and they blew up.
It's funny and sad because I know people who were originally uninterested in sports before they could make money off of it.
Man, I would never want to be a professional athlete today, if you mess up at all and someone loses like even $5 due to you then they'll want your head on a silver platter.
Unfortunately, this was only the beginning of what would come.
Over the past give or take, 2 years, we saw the rise of prediction markets. The two titans of that industry being Polymarket and Kalshi.
They are some of the most atrocious things I have ever seen someone come up with as a product over the internet.
In case you don't know, you bet on the likelihood of future events on these platforms. That doesn't sound sooo bad....right?
Well, enter "politics." Will Israel blow up a hospital? Will America attack Iran? Who will win the election, the Giant Douce, or the Turd Sandwich? (You're a real one if you get the last reference.)
People are literally betting, and potentially earning money off of people dying, conflict going on, and other horrible tragedies. People aren't just profitting off of death, but they WANT these awful things to happen so they can make their money!
Not to mention that the very corpse of Democracy has been monetized and already "priced in." Like seriously, why can people bet on elections?
The inside trading going on with these platforms is insane, people from the administration can bet money on future events that the government gets involved with, which will likely increase the odds of certain (bad) things happening if someone could make hundreds of thousands from the Polymarket because of that thing happening.

I think that a small part of this is because of the economy. Because in America, you need a side gig to pay the bills. A regular job just won't cut it.
Either you're doordashing, have an Onlyfans, giving people rides on platforms like Uber, or you're betting money on your phone. All of which are demonic.
But I think the biggest reason for why gambling is such an issue now is because of how easily one can access it. You can have it all on your phone, you can gamble anywhere and at anytime.
I get why people like gambling, it seems like an opportunity to make some good money and quickly. But this stuff DESTROYS people's lives. It's stressful, and it's a constant commitment that one must make.
I'm not someone who is just salty that I'm not making money, I'm quite content with the way that I am now for the most part.
I just see the greater evil that comes from a society where people practically live and breathe this stuff. This is the consumerist and materialist rot that literally turns people into sacks of flesh with a lil electrical activity going on in their heads, instead of being something much greater and divine.
I believe in personal and moral responsibility, and would love for people to just walk away from all of this. But people unfortunately just can't resist this stuff half the time. So yes, I think it should be banned.
